Monday 9/22 by Ron Olds

Over the weekend I noticed someone backed into my jeep. I have only had this thing for five months and someone has decided my bumper needed a redesign. I found a few tutorials online that showed screwing a wood screw into the crease and using that to pull the dent out. It still needs some work but it's better than it was.

Today I took Sookie to the dog park and shot some video with my new iPhone 6 plus. The new 240 fps slow motion video is great. Since I shot the video on the iPhone I figured I should edit and publish the video from the phone also.

Storehouse - Visual Storytelling by Storehouse

This app gives you a neat way to share a short story you can combine pictures, video, and text. Here is an example I created from today's trip to the dog park.

Preview of Drew & Alicia's Wedding by Ron Olds

Here is a quick preview of a few pictures I captured at Drew & Alicia's wedding.  The wedding was on Saturday August 31'st.

I was one of three shooters. Once the full online album is published I will include a link in this post. This was my second wedding.

Mumford & Sons concert by Ron Olds

This week I had the opportunity to shoot Mumford & Sons at Promowest Pavilion in Columbus Ohio. This was my first sold out show. You can definitely feel power of the 10,000 fans at your back while you try to concentrate on getting the best shots you can. The concert was original scheduled for the outdoor amphitheater but quickly sold out. Promowest rescheduled the event for their festival setting. This allowed them to double the number of tickets that they could sell. Overall the rarely used festival setting seemed to work out well. If they plan on using this layout in the future they should consider leveling the parking lot used for the main stage. The current parking lot has a concave surface leaving the fans in the middle of venue with a wonderful view of the 4 foot tall person infront of them. Promowest did provide two huge screens to help combat this issue. It seemed as though 6,000 of the fans were watching the stage and the other 4,000 were watching the large screens.

This was my first time seeing Mumford & Sons live. I will be sure to see them when they tour with their new album BABEL that is scheduled for release on September 25, 2012. A few of my photos from this show were featured on Midwest Photo Exchange's blog

Building a portfolio by Ron Olds

Over the last few weekends I have been working on building my portfolio. While some of these images are clearly better than others they are a starting point. Please check them out and let me know which is your favorite. I have highlighted my favorite with a gray border. If you or anyone you know is willing to donate your time in exchange for some pictures please let me know.
